Aesthetic vision and outdoor activities drive furniture selection on school’s new campus

Outdoor furniture from Street Furniture Australia’s Linea and Mall ranges have been specified for the brand new campus of St Francis of Assisi College in Renmark, South Australia.

Designed to accommodate students in grades 7 and 8, the new school completed this year will expand with the two years to encompass grades 7 to 12 in 2026.

Swanbury Penglase provided a holistic design for the campus as the project’s architects and landscape architects.

Landscape architect Lana Greer said the furniture selection was driven by both the aesthetic vision and the activities the college would like to support outdoors.

“We were delighted to be able to install a variety of furniture selections from Street Furniture Australia on the new campus, which are both durable and stylish.

“The furniture reflects the architectural style of the campus and facilitates a variety of outdoor learning opportunities through different arrangements and installation methods,” she explained.

The architects specified the Linea range with its sleek and strong stainless steel frames, and the versatile Mall range with durable, low-maintenance Wood Without Worry wooden slats in Bush Cherry wood grain aluminum and powder coated frames in Textura Monument.

Linea and Mall settings can be used for formal learning as well as student recreational activities. Mall DDA tables have end access for wheelchair users.

Fixed pedestal Linea seating rests on concrete walls, supporting sandstone forms to enhance the seating ability of the landscape.
