Friends in Utah create Outdoorpals app to coordinate outdoor activities with new people

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If you’ve ever moved to a new city or just moved away from an activity you enjoyed doing when you were younger, then you know it can be difficult to find people who share the same passions.

The outdoorpals app was created in Utah by a group of friends who want everyone to stick to outdoor activities that make them happy.

The app helps people find, plan and coordinate outdoor activities as well as finding new things to try while meeting new people, according to

“We wanted to stay focused on the events and do it,” said outdoorpals co-founder Kevin Wallace. “We didn’t want to create another social media platform where there’s a bunch of chatting and chatting and connecting online. We wanted that to translate into in-person interactions.

He and his app co-founders said they have received calls from people around the world wanting to know how they can grow to identify activities with like-minded people.

“We’re passionate about skiing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing,” said co-founder Bobby Meinhold. “But even looking south, we have kite surfing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling. For an older demographic, walking, yoga. »

Outdoorpals will soon be available on the App Store and Google Play, and the beta version comes out on Monday.

Hundreds of people have pre-registered to discover the application.

For now, you can find them on Facebook and instagram.
