How to Eliminate Your Fall Outdoors, Wondercide Launches New Herbal Aerosol Spray to Eliminate Painful Biting Insects

“Our products are powered by plant-based ingredients and formulated to kill the bugs you don’t want while protecting your family. Nothing should take away from the good times at home or outdoors,” says Stephanie Boone, Founder and CEO of Wondercide.

September is prime season for wasps, hornets and yellowjackets, with pest populations peaking in late summer and early fall. These uninvited guests can quickly ruin a wonderful outdoor activity like an outdoor dinner party, picnic, or pool party. These darters love to explore and forage for food and are more likely to crush your party, especially when treats are left unattended.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America reports that these stingers are not only a nuisance, but can be downright dangerous if someone is allergic to the venom and subsequently stung. In reality, five percent of the US population – 16.6 million people have insect allergies.

Wasps, hornets and yellowjackets can be territorial, and if you startle them or come across a nest you didn’t know existed, they can become aggressive and sting multiple times. Additionally, they can swarm in numbers, which is concerning. It’s a good idea to keep these insects and their nests away from family play and lounging areas to keep everyone safe.

This is why Wondercide has introduced Wasp & Hornet for Porch + Patio. This plant-powered aerosol kills wasps, hornets and yellowjackets on contact. It also treats open-faced hives and, like all Wondercide products, thoughtful ingredients mean it’s safe for children and pets when used as directed.

“We know all insects have a place in the ecosystem, yet it’s also important to protect the ones you love from harmful insects, whether it’s wasps, fleas, ticks or mosquitoes. That’s where Wondercide comes in,” says Stephanie. Boone, founder and CEO of Wondercide. “Our products are powered by plant-based ingredients and formulated to kill the bugs you don’t want while protecting your family. Nothing should take away from good times at home or outdoors.

Wondercide provides this helpful information on how to identify wasps, hornets and yellowjackets:

Before using Wasp & Hornet to eliminate biting insects, check that you are not dealing with bees. It’s important not to disturb our best pollinators, and bees are generally not aggressive. Bees, both the bumblebee and the honey bee, are hairier than wasps, hornets and yellowjackets. The pollen sticks to the hairs of the bees and travels to the next flower where fertilization is made possible.

In addition to having more body hair, bees are more robust and have little to no body thinning between the abdomen and upper body. They also have a slightly enlarged segment on their hind leg, and their legs are broad overall, which helps them carry pollen.

In contrast, wasps, hornets, and yellowjackets have very little hair and appear smoother. Their bodies seem slimmer, longer and bigger than bees. Bees (about half an inch) are the smallest of this group, followed by wasps (about ¾ inch) and then hornets (up to an inch or more). Yellow jackets are a type of wasp and are similar in size.

Wondercide provides these tips for getting rid of wasps, hornets and yellow jackets safely:

The Direct Kill – How to Use on Biting Insects
