New Yorker Electronics offers the Orion Fans series of harsh environment AC and DC fans. Presented in different frame sizes, these axial fans have a sealed design for harsh environments. The IP68 rating ensures that the motor is fully protected against dust and other particles and can be fully submerged in water at depths of up to 3m. Special features are provided with DC fans, such as alarms, tachometers, thermistor speed controls, and temperature sensors.
These AC/DC fans are developed for demanding washdown applications and are ATEX certified for Zone 2 and other harsh environments. They offer a dual bearing system design and die-cast frames in plastic or PBT, UL94V-0 aluminum. They are designed for alternative energy, food and beverage processing, commercial refrigeration, marine, outdoor machinery, outdoor telecommunications systems, transportation and other applications.
The launch of nine new series of IP68-rated DC fans offers 90 different models providing engineers with design variety and flexibility to meet most application requirements. With airflows ranging from 14 to 300 CFM, these fans maximize air movement and heat dissipation to extend the life of electronics and system components. Fans come in sizes ranging from 60mm to 172mm. Special functions are also offered to meet application demands, including alarm, tachometer, thermistor speed control, temperature sensor, etc.
“The addition of these IP68-rated DC fans expands our existing line of solutions for harsh environment applications,” said David Luna, vice president of marketing at Orion Fans. “The IP68 rated versions offer customers additional protection, especially when combined with louvered fan guards and special filters.
